The Basement Bookshop
As its name implies, it is located in our Church basement! Come in the side entry that you will find on the south side of the Church building either by walking up the sidewalk from Main Street or by coming in from the parking lot at the back of the building.
the bookshop is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 am - 1 pm
The shop features 16,000+ books of all kinds ... fiction and non-fiction for children, adults and teens; science, anthropology, sports, biography, classics, etc. There are also puzzles, games, CDs and DVDs for sale.
The books are reasonably priced so that almost anyone can take home something. You can purchase a bag of books for $10.00 (bags are provided) Alternately, choose small paperbacks for $.50 apiece or hard covers and large paperbacks for $1.00 each.
Volunteers from the congregation and community operate the bookshop - volunteers who love books. (You can tell when you are at the shop). They are helpful but they also just let you browse! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the shop, call the Church Office, 705-724-2815.
All proceeds from the sale of the books go to the Church. But not all books that come to the bookstore are sold. The Basement Bookstore gives books to several organizations, locally and globally such as prisons, community centres, schools and nursing homes.
If you have books you would like to donate to the Bookshop, bring 'em on in!
